This year's conference will be held on Saturday 24th April 2010. The day will begin with registration, orange juice and croissants at 9.30, and will finish at 4.30pm. There is a small charge of £5.00 for the day if you register by 11th April 2010, £7.00 thereafter.
Kay will be teaching on Paul and Timothy's relationship from 2 Timothy. In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, the older man encourages the younger, passing on lessons learned over many years. Paul models a life which has made an incredible impact for the sake of the gospel . Timothy is called to be different from the pervading culture, not yielding to the expectations of others. We can learn much from each of them as we seek to live lives of faithful devotion to God which impact the world around us and enable life-giving relationships.

There are two seminar slots, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. There is a choice of five seminars available at each session.
This session will look at the centrality of Children’s ministry to church life and include practical help for parents to invest in their children’s spiritual development and ways in which we can reach children and families in our communities with the Gospel.
This seminar will look at some ways that a Christian wife can build up and strengthen her marriage, and bless and encourage her husband. It will involve a brief look at what the Bible says about how to be a godly wife, and include some practical ideas and suggestions.
In this seminar we will take a quick overview of the known drug problem in Scotland, and of different models of approach to care management. We will consider the implications of drug use on the person, the family and society.
What does the Bible teach about drug addiction and associated issues? What glimpses do we find of the Lord’s heart regarding the person with addiction, the addiction itself and those who suffer in the fall-out. We will question how we can be imitators of the Lord in our attitudes to the topic, whether we can make any impact and what challenges face those who are willing to be involved.
Does your day ideally require 2 extra hours? Do you go to bed increasingly late, leaving a trail of unfinished “to do’s” Do you sleep fitfully, fretting over the stresses of the moment? When you wake in the morning do you prioritise time alone with God and His Word…?
In our time together we’ll be looking at what causes stress (is stress always a bad thing?) and exploring strategies for growing more like Jesus in our times of stress, rather than spiralling away from Him into “distress”.
We’ll focus on stressful events,(eg bereavement, loss, trauma ) as well as ”time management” stress. Ideally we will learn from each other as we look at this area together (however there is no requirement to be midst crisis, nor to share personal trauma).
How do we love others as Jesus loved? How can our lives, our service and our character truly reflect Christ like characteristics? Does loving others flow spontaneously from a life deeply committed to and in true relationship with Jesus? Is it possible to live today exhibiting the heart of the servant King? This seminar explores Jesus example in loving others and the ways we can be equipped, strengthened and enabled to live lives that love the Jesus way.
